Helping Idaho homeowners separate an export credit from a sales promise
Idaho Power explains that customers on its net-billing schedules pay for electricity drawn from the grid and receive an Export Credit Rate for electricity sent back. The utility also cautions that its tariffs can change. That is specific to the applicable Idaho Power accounts, not a universal description of solar service throughout Idaho.
A homeowner comparing a long-term solar payment with a recent power bill may be asking two different questions: how the utility calculates credits and whether the sales explanation matched the agreement. Keeping those questions separate helps avoid suggesting that a disappointing bill alone proves misconduct.
